Anniversary Gifts For Your Special Someone

Remember when you first met your partner? How their laugh made your stomach flutter, and how for days later you couldn’t think of them without smiling? You never want to take those feelings for granted, so anniversaries celebrate the day you first came into each other’s lives, and the day you became partners for life. Your relationship is special, so you need to give them a gift that demonstrates how you feel. This can be challenging, so it’s best to start thinking about it early. Here are a few ideas to inspire you.
Paper memories
The first anniversary is traditionally known as the Paper anniversary; it might not seem like the best inspiration for presents, but it does allow you to get creative. If you’re decidedly keeping the event low key, then a well-written card will meet the criteria of ‘paper’, but if you see this relationship lasting longer, you could buy them a beautifully decorated journal that you could both fill in as a couple. You could also buy a blank scrapbook and make a promise to fill it with photographs, tickets, and paper mementos of the years you’ve spent together. Not only are these gifts they’ll love, but they’re easy on the budget, and they are an unspoken promise to keep making memories with your loved one.
Jewellery
While you can’t go wrong with a nice piece of jewellery, you need to be sure it’s something they’ll be proud to wear everyday. The first thing you need to do is establish which metal they prefer; a quick peek through their jewellery box will son confirm this. Then you need to see what kind of jewellery they would prefer; some people would be happy with a nameplate necklace, others might prefer a watch as it’s more practical, and some might just want a new charm to adorn their favourite charm bracelet. Jewellery doesn’t have to be a cliche gift. If it’s done right, it’s a way of showing your loved one how well you know them.
Adventures
Life is always going to be an adventure, and it’s even better when you have someone with whom to share it. Celebrate each of your anniversaries by booking some time off and flying away for a couples getaway. Time spent away from the stresses of daily life will allow you to reconnect as a couple, and it will make more memories for the scrapbooks. If you want to track your adventures over the years, you could buy a black and white map of the world and colour in the countries you’ve explored together.
Learning new skills together
In the beginning of your relationship, it’s fun to learn about your common interests and share your personal hobbies with your loved one. Now that you’ve been together a little longer, you could try growing together as a couple by taking a class together. Enrolling in a salsa class or taking mixology lessons makes for a more exciting date than dinner and a movie.
