Family days out!

Family days out

We love little family days out and ones that don't cost a fortune are in my opinion much better, why? Because it's the simple things that children love and if it's cheaper you can afford to do more of those family days out, creating more memories together. Taking children out is how they learn about the world around them. Here's some great things we done as a family last year...

  1. Went to the seaside. Oliver loved going to the seaside, building sandcastles... knocking down the sandcastles, making mummy put her feet in the cold sea water, blowing bubbles, having a little picnic and collecting sea shells. Sea side is obviously free, getting there isnt free but the day itself can be fairly cheap!

Look... I did go in a little bit!

  2. Whipsnade Zoo. This was a lovely summers day out, Oliver loved seeing all the different animals but having little legs he did moan a bit about all of the walking that was required. If you look around you can find some good deals on entry prices.

  3. Farm. Most areas have local farms, we happen to have a few good ones locally and Oliver loves seeing all the animals, sometimes in local papers you can find entry offers making the day cheaper.

  4. SeaLife london. I took Oliver to Sealife in London, during half term! But it wasn't packed actually, we arrived at 9:30am and for atleast half an hour it was just me and him inside which was lovely! I had a voucher which meant 1 adult went free so I only had to pay for Oliver to get in. He loved it.

  5. London Transport Museum. Unlike other museums you have to pay to get into this one but your ticket is valid for a year so you can return as many times as you like, it's great for little ones as there is loads of interactive things especially for little ones who love transport!

  6. Gullivers land - dinosaur & farm park. This was a lovely day out, Oliver got to dig for dinosaur bones and look at fossils. Then he went to see animals in the farm park and went on a tractor ride... alot. He also got to do a cooking class where he made a cheese biscuit, he said it was yummy.

  7. RAF museum. RAF museum was a great day out, Oliver loved looking at all the planes and he really enjoyed the ones he was allowed to sit inside.

  8. Legoland.  I used my clubcard vouchers to take us to Legoland = cheap day out. It was a birthday treat for Oliver and he loved it, however the queues were so long - it was August so summer holidays and we didn't really get to go on much but what we did go on, he loved.

  9. Holiday. We took Oliver for a little break to North Wales, we spent most of the time in Llandudno which is a lovely place, my parents actually lived there before I was born and we returned every year for holidays.

  10. RHS Gardens. Michael is a landscape gardener so obviously we go to lots of gardens and Oliver loves to run about and explore, sometimes big gardens have events on and rides for children during holidays.
